Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed an early aptitude to play sports while studying at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting potential at the time. Within a short time after her first attempt, Felix finished second in the 200 meters race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix completed her high school year in 2003 and signed with Adidas to become professional athlete. The following year she enrolled at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Her first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record the 200m race in 22.18 secs. At the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the world's youngest champion for the distance of 200 meters. The following year, she was able to defend the title against her Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed in the top three in all of her races in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
