Alison Doody

Alison Doody has been an Irish actor and model from 11 November 1996. Her debut in a feature film was a tiny part in The James Bond film A View to a Kill. (1985). Later she was portrayed as a Nazi-sympathising Archaeologist Elsa Schneider (Indiana Jones and in the Last Crusade 1989). Siobhan in A Prayer for the Dying, Charlotte in Taffin and Rebecca Flannery Major League II. Doody began her modeling career after the opportunity was offered by a hopeful photographer. The career she pursued has developed into commercial modeling. Doody was adamantly against glamour, nudity and thongs in her modelling career. When she came to the director's attention in a James Bond film, Doody took on a part on the film A View to a Kill (1985). Doody was named one of the top twelve promising young actors in the year 1986 in John Willis Screen World. 38. Only 18 years old as she played the character Doody was - and remains one of the smallest Bond girl who has appeared in a film. A Prayer for the Dying which starred Mickey Rourke also had a part for Doody as IRA Siobhan. Doody was a voice actor in the 1987 TV adaptation of The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in a dream. The Storyteller's episode Sapsorrow was her first lead role. It aired in 1988 opposite Dawn French, John Hurt and Jennifer Saunders. She acted alongside Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Elsa Schneider, an Austrian Nazi sympathiser and a archaeologist for forensics in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody appeared alongside Sean Connery in the film, as Indy's dad. Doody costarred with Jonathan Pryce, in the British mini-series Selling Hitler. The series was an inspiration for The Hitler Diaries publishing scam. She later moved to Hollywood. She took over Cybill Shepherd in the L'Oreal spokesperson's role. Then she played Flannery Sheen's girlfriend and his agent alongside Charlie Sheen, as Major League II came out in 1994. After a long absence from the stage Doody came back to acting, and acted in a tiny role in 2003's British comedy movie The Actors with Michael Caine as her character in the award ceremony scene. In 2004, she appeared alongside Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She played a role in Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 pamphlet on the Holocaust. In 2010, Doody played a role on Danny Dyer's feature film The Rapture (2010). Doody appeared on RTE's Medical drama The Clinic. The project was later canceled. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. The show also featured her in We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). The Almeria Tierra de Film Award was awarded to her on the 21st of November in 2018. She also received an award at the Almeria Walk Of Fame.
